Bundled (Short & Long Term) Storage

Paul’s Moving Service is proud to offer our new Bundled Long & Short Term Storage Program. With this innovative new program, our customers get unlimited storage for their household goods bundled with the top-rated and affordable moving services Paul’s Moving & Storage has become so well known for - all at one great low price. With our Bundled Storage Program, you never have to worry about the details - we handle everything, including preparing your items for storage, the paperwork and picking up and delivering your storage items at your home or office, on dates and times that are convenient for you, even on nights and weekends.

Here’s how the program works: We pick up your storage items from your home, office or self-storage facility and move them to our secure, indoor, climate-controlled warehouse in Woburn where they are then carefully placed into storage by our experienced moving professionals. You get a detailed inventory of all your items. You can move more items into storage or have us deliver items to you from our warehouse at any time. With Paul’s Moving, you get all the same great benefits you expect from a top-rated full service moving and storage company. Storing your belongings has never been easier.

If the price of your move was quoted to include storage, the total cubic footage of your storage items to be used for the purpose of computing your monthly storage charges will be determined as follows: The total cubic footage of your storage items is the sum of the cubic footage of all individual storage items, rounded up to the nearest one hundred cubic foot increment. The cubic footage of each individual storage item is the product of the overall length, width and height of the item. Each storage item will be treated as a box, i.e. any empty space within the overall length, height or width of the item will not be subtracted from the cubic footage determined by multiplying the overall dimensions of the item. Alternately, if agreed upon in advance by both Mover and Customer, an arbitrary number or estimated total cubic footage may be used instead of the actual cubic footage. Any initial estimate of the total cubic footage of the storage items given to Customer by Mover based on a quick visual inspection should not be construed as an agreed upon or arbitrary number. Customer may request, or Mover may require, that any storage item which can be partially or totally disassembled be disassembled prior to storage. In this case, the cubic footage of the item will be computed as the sum of the cubic footages of the individual disassembled parts.

The monthly cost of your storage is equal to 37 cents per cubic foot per month, where the total cubic footage is computed as described above. The minimum monthly rental amount is $74.00. Your first month's rent will be quoted to you at 50% off if you book your move into storage with us at least 3 business days in advance of your move and the date of your move into storage is between September 16th and April 30th. If your first month’s rent was quoted to you at 50% off, the minimum amount of your first month’s rent will be $74.00, even if the full amount of one month’s rent is less than $148.00. There is a 1-hour minimum for labor spent prepping, inventorying and loading your items onto our trucks at your pickup location(s), or time spent unloading and unwrapping your items at your drop-off location(s).

The flat rate for your move-into-storage or move-out-of-storage labor is equal to one full month’s rent. We charge you labor by the hour for labor at our regular published truck rates for time spent prepping, inventorying and loading your items onto our trucks at your pickup location(s), or time spent unloading and unwrapping your items at your drop-off location(s). Standard fuel-mileage (location) charges apply to any pickup or drop-off.

Hazardous and combustible materials are prohibited from storage, including gasoline, fuel oil, engine oil, propane, paint, chlorine bleach, solvents, chemicals, etc…

At Mover’s option, Mover may or may not allow Customer unrestricted access to the storage area where Customer’s goods are stored. Unrestricted access, if any, shall be provided for by Mover separate from this agreement and in writing only, and when provided for in writing, may be revoked by Mover in writing at any time. When unrestricted access is not granted by Mover, access to Mover’s storage area will be allowed by appointment with Mover once per month at no charge for the first quarter hour of time spent by Mover on site with Customer at Mover’s storage facility during such access. Additional time spent by Mover on site with Customer will be charged by the quarter hour at Mover’s published labor only rates. Additional access visits shall be charged by the quarter hour at Mover’s published labor only rates. Customers may not determine how or where their items are stored within Mover’s storage areas.

There is no long term contract for our bundled storage agreements. These rental agreements are always month to month only. At least 3 business days advance notice must be given to Customer to Mover before a move-out date can be scheduled.

Mover will refund (if already paid) or waive (if not yet paid) a prorated amount for the monthly storage charges corresponding to the days remaining in any automatic renewal storage period if Customer takes receipt of all their storage items on or before the end of the third calendar day after the start of the automatic renewal period.

Customer shall pay Mover’s published labor only rates for any time spent by Mover(s) to facilitate the moving of Customer’s items out of storage if Customer chooses to take receipt of their items directly at Mover’s warehouse. All time spent by Mover(s) on site at Mover’s warehouse while Customer takes receipt of their items shall be considered billable labor.

Hoisting

Hoisting is a specialty at Paul's Moving Service. When a piece of furniture will not fit through a stairwell or doorway the only option may be hoisting. Hoisting can be done manually over most balconies and through some windows using a variety of special equipment and techniques. When a crane is needed, we offer crane service although this is more expensive (a crane is usually not needed).

Basic hoisting charges are flat rates that cover an entire hoisting operation from start to finish. Up to 2.5 hours of labor are included with your basic hoisting rate. Office travel time for hoisting rates is not charged in addition to your basic labor rate; depending on your location, office travel time for hoisting may be deducted from the initial 2.5 hours of basic labor (see Office Travel Time For Hoisting below). Certain additional charges for specialized equipment may apply (see below under Additional Hoisting Charges). At our option we may include additional non-hoisting labor, up to an amount that does not exceed 2.5 total hours (including the time to complete the initial hoist) at no extra charge. Call for details.

Basic hoisting charges do not include the use of a truck for moving of items from one location to another. If your move involves a hoist along with moving of furniture, we may be able to structure your rate as a basic hoist along with a flat fee for the use of a box truck, or we may structure your rate under our STANDARD / PREMIUM rate structure along with some additional charge for the hoist, depending on whether your move is involves more labor for the moving end or the hoisting end. Call us for details.

We must be told in advance if any assembly or disassembly needs to done on windows, doors, balconies, etc..; additional storage and/or hosting charges may otherwise apply. In general, disassembly and reassembly of items other than the items to be hoisted is not covered under basic hosting charges. We are not responsible for reassembly of or damage relating to reassembly of a window. Hoisting of box springs and other light items can very often be done using a 2-man crew as part of a larger move at our regular hourly labor rates. When hoisting is to be done as part of a larger move that includes non-hoisting labor, a $40 hoisting fee will be applied (in addition to the normal hourly labor and other charges) instead of the basic hoisting rate structure described above.

Office Travel Time For Hoisting Rates

Residential and commercial hoisting rates include 2.5 hours of time for an initial flat rate based on how many movers are required. If the time to complete a job exceeds 2.5 hours, additional hourly charges will apply, prorated by the quarter hour, with rates as shown in the hoisting rate tables above. Office travel time is not factored in for locations in Woburn. For locations in Winchester, Lexington, Burlington, Stoneham and Reading office travel time is assumed to be 30 minutes total. For locations outside Woburn, Winchester, Lexington, Burlington, Stoneham and Reading, the nominal drive time from our office to the job location (times two) is considered to be consumed as part of the initial 2.5 hours. For example, for most locations in downtown Boston, we would consider the nominal drive time to be 22 minutes. In this case, 45 minutes of billable time will have elapsed when we begin the job, leaving 1.75 hours of labor available under the initial flat rate before additional prorated hourly charges apply.

When certain special equipment is required for hoisting, we will add a flat surcharge to our hourly rates as shown in the table below:

Residential Hoisting Special Equipment Charges Effective Year Round
Genie lift fork extensions $10.00 flat
Block & tackle 8-foot beam extension $40.00 flat
Dock plate $20.00 flat
